Isaias T. Diaz was born and raised in the north end of Waterbury, CT. His parents moved to Waterbury from Penuelas Puerto Rico and were one of the first Puerto Rican families to reside in the city. The son of Nelida and Hiram Diaz, Isaias is one of nine children and has 21 nieces and nephews. He teaches mock trial skills to Quinnipiac School of Law mock trial teams and has been an advocate for Latino advancement since he was nineteen years old. Attorney Diaz is also a mentor to Latino youth and was a former youth pastor before becoming an attorney. Attorney Diaz was also Chairman of the Connecticut Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission for four years and was named a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2014.
